Kidepo Valley National Park lies in the rugged, semi arid valleys between Uganda’s borders with Sudan and Kenya, some 700km from Kampala. Gazetted as a national park in 1962, it has a profusion of big game and hosts over 77 mammal species as well as around 475 bird species.

Queen Elizabeth national park is home to a number of mammals and birds. It is documented to have about 95 animal species and 612 bird species. The variety is well worth a visit to the park. Animal residents of the park include; the Uganda kob, warthog, elephant, waterbuck, giant forest hog, leopards, lions and hyenas. There are topi found in Ishasha, and primate in maramagambo forest and Kyambura Gorge. The park is famous for its tree climbing lions.
Flying some or even all legs of your safari is a great way to reduce travel time, especially for those planning a safari within limited time-frames.
To incorporate flights into our safaris we have stationed some of our customised safari 4×4 Landcruiser vehicles with trained and experienced guides in Bwindi, Queen Elizabeth, Kibale Forest and Murchison Falls National Park. You can now substitute the long 8-10+ hour drives to some of these locations with a scenic 1 ½ hour flight from Entebbe International Airport, leaving you more time to enjoy the lodges and surrounding activities.
Entebbe UWEC Zoo provides the best option for day trips and excursions for those having one or two nights in Entebbe. Located at the shores of Lake victoria which is the largest fresh water lake in Africa, Uganda wildlife Education center commonly known as Entebbe UWEC Zoo offers the best introduction to Uganda’s flora and fauna’s National Park. Entebbe UWEC Zoo houses as many plants and animals in a near world situation and one can spend half, whole day or even two days in this facility.
After your breakfast, we drive through the famous Luwero triangle.
On our way we visit and track White Rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. This sanctuary has now been established to breed black and white rhino, and restore Rhino populations in Uganda’s protected areas in a later stage.
We will continue through the park stopping at the top of the falls which is a fantastic sight. Here the Nile, the longest river in the world, is forced through a narrow gap in the rock (only 7 meters wide), before ferociously plunging down 43 meters. From here we will continue onto our accommodation place along the Nile River.
Your flight itinerary will be available online approximately 21 days prior to departure. All groups are issued electronic tickets (e-tickets), which means you only need to bring your passport to the airport for check-in.
We recommend planning on approximately $60 per day for spending money. This should cover lunches, beverages, souvenirs, free time activities and additional excursions.
A good night’s sleep is important, so travelers can count on safe, clean and comfortable hotels with private bathrooms. And rest assured, we inspect every hotel personally.
Some itineraries offer time for students to explore the city with fellow travelers and their Group Leader or chaperones. Your Tour Director knows the area well and can recommend local favorites and activities.
